6 Self-care & Wellness tips for this summer

Summer is a time for fun in the sun, but it's also important to prioritize your self-care during this season. Here are six self-care and wellness tips to help you stay healthy and happy this summer:


Hello, and welcome to summer in 2023, So over the last couple of weeks we have been hitting highs of 28 degrees. Beautiful but hot, I was at Chipping Sodbury on the weekend and it was so hot i could't work well and then it dawned on me I had forgotten the most simplest of things to stay happy in the sun. After which I thought it would be a great idea to write a blog entry to help anyone who is needing some tips and hints for this summer has led me to write this short blog on 6 self-care and wellness tip to keep you happy and heathy this summer.

Tip #1 -Stay Hydrated

With the hot temperatures, it's important to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated. Aim for at least eight glasses of water a day, and consider carrying a reusable water bottle with you wherever you go. Sometimes having a pretty reusable bottle or cup can make you want to drink more. So I shall be launching my very own 16oz glass cups with bamboo lids with some very lush designs. They shall be launched next couple of weeks so stay tuned.


Tip #2 - Protect your skin


Suncream is a must during these summer months to protect your skin from harmful uv rays. There are many on the market that cater to different skins such as children's, face, and sensitivity. Plus choose a broad-spectrum Suncream with at least SPF 30. We always take our suncream on holiday with us, why not wear it at home to keep our skin protected. Top tip, Purchase travel size suncream and pop one in each of your bags. I did this and it works wonders especially when me and the girls are in a rush to leave.


Tip #3 - Take breaks from technology



It can be easy to get caught up in social media and other forms of technology during the summer, but it is important to take some breaks and disconnect. Spend time outdoors, read a book or engage in other activities that don't involve screens. Your mental and physical health will thank you later on.


Tip #4 - Get enough sleep


With longer days and more activities, it can be tempting to stay up late. However, it is also important to prioritize sleep for your overall health and wellbeing. Aim for seven to nice hours of sleep each night. If not creat a wind down routine that can help you sleep. A perfect excuse to get the Sweet Dream gift box for yourself. Where there're beautiful items to make you wind up and feel relaxed and chilled.


Tip #5 - Practice mindfulness


Now, I never been big on the whole chanting thing or sitting still for ages. My brain wanders too much and I actually get more stressed. But taking time out to contemplate on the small things can help one stay grounded and present. Whether it be listening to calming music or practice stretching or writing in a journal considering mindfulness practices can help you stay centered.


Tip #6 - Stay active


Summer is a great time to get outside and be active. There are many activities you can try and do from walking to swimming to horse riding. The list to endless. And not forgetting your reuseable bottle too keep you going.
